What is a Smart Meter?

Unlike a traditional meter, a Smart Meter not only measures the electricity usage but also sends the reading to the supplier company automatically. Once these meters are installed, electricity companies can monitor the electric use of every household in real-time. This empowers the supplier company with all the necessary data required to generate accurate statements without the hassle of manual reading and estimated billing.

How Does Smart Meter Works?

Meters can communicate either through RF or through GPRS network. Meter data goes to the HES, secured in a cloud and thereafter integrates with DISCOM’s MDM system.

Smart Meter National Programme

The Smart Meter National Programme aims to replace 250 million conventional meters of India with our Smart Meters. We have already installed over 1.6 million Smart Meters under this programme. We are executing a turn-key project of 3.5 Lacs Smart Meters at 5 towns of MP.

Smart City
